Brian Masterman Collection

Volunteering Opportunity
Brian Masterman Collection

Since early 2021 members of this Society have been engaged in sorting, cataloguing and archiving the extensive collection of Old Goole historian, the late Brian Masterman. His collection comprises documents, artefacts and photographs relating to the heritage of Goole and Old Goole and the people and industries found there, particularly ship building.

The collection is stored in the attic room of the Moorlands Centre, Old Goole where three Society volunteers spend  one day per week with a fourth member scanning photographs from home to ensure that the catalogued, sorted material is kept in a manner that will ensure its safe preservation for the education of future students of that community’s history.
